Welcome to the Viking Hotel!
Viking Hotel is a pleasant family-run
hotel located just 300 m from
the sea on the northern fringe of the old, idyllic town of Sæby.
We have expanded the hotel's capacity
several times, most recently
in 2003 when a new wing with 32 luxury rooms, a new hall and
reception area and conference and banquet facilities were
inaugurated. Today, Viking Hotel can thus offer our guests 86
new or refurbished rooms. The hotel is also accessible to those
with a disability, with a lift to the greater part of our rooms.
Viking Hotel has first-class cuisine
– try the chef's specialities
in one of our restaurants, or enjoy the relaxed atmosphere in the
Atrium Terrace. The hotel's largest restaurant seats 400 guests –
the ideal venue for conferences, courses and parties.
Viking Hotel offers the following
facilities: Pool table, air hockey,
sauna, solarium and a courtyard garden with a playground for our young
guests. The hotel is just 300 metres from a child-friendly sand beach
with a promenade direct to the marina and the old town of Sæby.

Rooms at Viking Hotel
Viking Hotel has 84 rooms, in three
categories, and two suites.
The hotel lift can be used to access 62 of our rooms.
Standard rooms
Light, refurbished rooms, all with a bath, toilet, telephone
and cable TV. Generally, standard rooms are a little smaller
than usiness Class rooms. A few standard rooms will accommodate
an extra bed, and we offer family rooms for up to four persons.
Also non-smoking rooms are available.
Business Class Rooms
A bigger and younger generation of the hotel's rooms, all with
a bath, toilet, telephone, cable TV and mini bar. Several of our
Business Class rooms will accommodate extra beds, up to 4 – 6
persons, and non-smoking rooms are available.
Luxury Rooms
Our new, large luxury rooms feature fine Danish interior design
and all have a private balcony with a table and chairs. All rooms
have free internet connection, cable TV, mini bar and a bath and
toilet. Half of our luxury rooms are non-smoking.
Suites
Treat yourself to an experience above the standard. Our two
deluxe suites have separate lounge and sleeping rooms. Both
suites have a luxury bathroom with a jacuzzi – and one suite
also features a sauna.
Viking City Hotel is a friendly
accommodation facility located
at the heart of Sæby in the pedestrian street near the town square.
When staying at the Viking City Hotel,
our guests have the
opportunity to enjoy the town atmosphere, with a wide variety of
shops, restaurants and cafés on their doorstep. The City facility
is only a stone's throw from the old town of Sæby, with its historic
houses, the abbey church from the 16th century, the town museum,
the Old Water Mill and the port and marina.
Rooms
Our guests are offered 10 comfortable standard double rooms, all
with a bath and toilet and colour TV. A few rooms will accommodate
an extra bed.
The City facility has no restaurant or
reception. Check-in is at
Viking Hotel, and all meals included in your stay will also be
served in the Viking Hotel restaurant – distance about 1.5 km.
Viking Penthouse

• Viking Penthouse - is located at Viking Hotel, with only 300
metres to a sandy beach suitable for children and a beach
promenade that leads directly to the charming old part of town.
Distance to the town centre is about 1.5 km.
The Penthouse, with a total of 225 m2 on
two floors plus a
flagged terrace facing south, with garden furniture and barbecue,
was newly refurbished in 1999/2000 in exclusive materials featuring
beautifully crafted detail. The décor is functional and all rooms
are furnished in an informal modern style and have a direct phone
and fax line.
The penthouse has seven bedrooms in all,
with two luxury box
mattresses in each room.
• Meals during your stay: The
Penthouse kitchen is fully equipped
so that guests can make and serve their own meals if they wish.
It is also possible to book a stay including meals – guests may
eat in the hotel restaurant, pick up meals from the restaurant
to take back or have meals delivered to the Penthouse.

The ground floor welcomes you from a
handsome entryway directly
connected to a large kitchen-lounge area that seats 16 for dining.
The kitchen has all modern conveniences: ceramic plate cooker, oven,
microwave oven, refrigerator/freezer and dishwasher.

connected to an airy sitting
room with a southern exposure, complete with Bang & Olufsen colour
TV, video and Hi Fi system with CD.

The first floor has a sitting room with a
sea view and five bedrooms,
a sauna plus a shower bathroom and toilet with a washing machine
and dryer.
Sæby and the region
The old town with its small yellow-washed
houses, attractive shops
and cafés makes Sæby a unique place to visit no matter the season of
your trip.
The port offers plenty of opportunity to
linger and enjoy the
friendly, maritime atmosphere. In the season, the port is a
bustling place, with yachts, a smokehouse, fishmongers, restaurants
and cafés.
However, not just the marina and the old
town put the town in a
class of its own. Nature around Sæby offers a rich variety of
experiences. Only two kilometres from Viking Hotel is the
Sæbygård Forest, with deep valleys and a winding stream, ideal
for a long walk or a picnic.
Also :: the beach should not to be
missed. The white beach,
suitable for children, stretches away for several kilometres,
lined by a lovely paved promenade.

Tambohus Kro is situated by the Limfjord,
directly opposite Jegindø,
one of the most beautiful spots of Jutland. Here you will find a true
nature paradise.
On one of the most beautiful spots by
Limfjorden, directly opposite
Jegindø (Jegind Island), is an old inn with an unusual story. In 1830,
a young fisherman named Chresten Pedersen settled here. Thanks to his
past as an army drummer, he was soon nicknamed 'Chresten Tambour' by
the locals.
Chresten Tambour once again distinguished
himself after his arrival at
our beautiful spot. By joining a local gang of criminal scavengers, he
succeeded in luring them into a trap, thus capturing the entire motley
crew. Yet again, the king rewarded the enterprising fisherman and
ferryman. He was granted the royal privilege to establish a ferry inn
under the name Tambohus, which also became the name of the village.
This was in the year 1842.
Tambohus Kro offers 29 wonderful rooms
with bath, toilet, telephone
and television set. From 14 of the rooms there is an exceptional view
over of the inlet and Jegindø, additionally 19 rooms have a terrace or
a balcony.
The Inn also offers non-smoking rooms.
