modules
Siemens mobile, the mobile arm of Siemens AG, is investing USD 40 million this
year in the production and development of mobile phones, cordless phones and wireless
modules in Brazil. As the market leader in the field of GSM mobile phones, Siemens in
Brazil will triple its production capacity by the first quarter of 2005 and plans, still
in this year, to export mobile phones and cordless phones worth more than USD 50 million
to Latin America. In addition, the company wants to export telecommunication software
worth more than 80 million US dollars over the next years to the region. Siemens mobile is
thus underscoring Brazil's important role in opening up the market for mobile
telecommunications in Latin America.

Telenor Mobil will through this initiative be one of the first operators in Europe to
