Morgandesign is a specialist furniture making company located on
the hampshire/wiltshire border. The modern creative workshop is
housed in a converted barn formerly used for pheasant rearing and
hay storage.

Working with timbers ranging from english hardwoods to rare and
exotic veneers, morgandesign create high-quality bespoke furniture
specific to individual client needs.

morgandesign is a company dedicated to translating this passion into

The process of commissioning a piece of furniture begins with an
initial consultation where your ideas and expectations will be
discussed with the designer. During this meeting, the first sketches
are produced. Once the selection of timbers is complete and the design
finalized, full working drawings are produced to scale.

The final design is the result of close collaboration between
designer and client, ensuring that the piece is individual and
fulfils all the criteria. A wood engineer will then be assigned to
manage the construction of your piece of furniture.

Once the piece is nearing completion, clients are invited back to
the workshop to meet their wood egineer and watch the design take
shape.

In the final stages, the morgandesign insignia mark is inlayed in
a discreet place, identifying the work as a morgandesign original.

Full Working Design
morgandesign offer a design service that will give the client a
scale drawing or if they wish a projected image from a digital
photograph. This gives an initial idea of design and scale of the

Morgandesign can produce watercolour artwork for bigger projects to
show a better 3D perspective.

Tour
If you are thinking of commissioning some furniture, a guided tour

Local Timber
morgandesign use a local saw mill that has many wind felled
hedgerow timbers, these timbers have many knots and splits giving
a unique country look to the furniture that suits farms and cottages.

Traditional Skills
Traditional skills of woodturning, carving, guiding and upholstery
are still used in today’s furniture, morgandesign use these techniques
to give a modern twist to the furniture.

Extra Materials
morgandesign constantly use many other specialist materials such
as titanium, glass, fibre optics, granite, marble, pig skin etc.
these materials are gently combined with the furniture to give an

Veneering

Being a specialist joiner for over twenty years and a life-long
early oak enthusiast, I work closely with a small group of independent
and highly skilled craftsmen and women.

Our common bond is a passion for England's rich heritage of
historic architecture, interiors and furnishings. Our love for,

Most of our work is of a 'one-off' nature, designed to blend perfectly
with its surroundings. As such we do not have a 'mass-produced' stock

When you require Hand Built bespoke furniture created by craftspersons
to your own designs, you should consider having your items built by our
highly skilled cabinetmakers.

We excel at the traditional style of hand built timber furniture using
any wood you specify (subject to availability). We are also capable of
copying existing items and we are able to polish the pieces to a fine
French polished finish.

We are best suited to working with Architects and Interior Designers
who will provide us with accurate and detailed drawings so that we
may create exactly the item or items required.

We are happy to work not only with professional designers but also
members of the general public. Although accurate drawings must be

All estimates are free as are site visits within the London area,

Stewart Linford started building chairs in 1976 in a small workshop
consisting of old farm buildings at Little Kingshill, Buckinghamshire,
in the heart of England’s furniture making country.

The first pieces produced were traditional country chairs, this
became a collection of classic English Windsor Chair designs known
as the Windsor Range. Complementary tables were added to form a
connoisseur group of models available in a wide variety of timbers,
the most intriguing being burr elm and yew. At the end of the 1970’s
a less elaborate selection of tables and chairs was introduced using
a smaller number of hardwoods predominantly elm and beech or oak,
called the Farmhouse Range. During the mid 1980’s cabinet making
was added to the repertoire, thus creating the Cabinet Range. In
addition all kinds of cabinets are regularly made to customers’
specifications.

The business has grown considerably over the last twenty five years
by building only the finest quality furniture and developing a style
unique to Stewart Linford.

The factory, head office and showrooms are situated at Kitchener
Works, High Wycombe which is a purpose built furniture factory dating
back to the early years of this century, housing over 40 people
including turners, wood machinists, cabinet makers, chair makers
and polishers as well as administration and support staff.

Our administration team are often the first people to talk to by
telephone; they aim to make all callers feel special. This
reflects the company philosophy of offering personal service and
precisely matching customers’ requirements with exquisitely made
pieces of furniture.

Stewart divides his time between sales, his drawing board and
the factory, constantly striving to improve his furniture and
delight his customers. He is a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company
of Furniture Makers.
