We are an Alaska fly in fishing lodge offering fly fishing and spin fishing in remote alaska for salmon and rainbow trout. We concentrate our efforts on rainbow trout, king salmon (chinook), and silver salmon (coho). We fly fish and spin fish, and specialize in "sight fishing" for Alaska king salmon and for "surface fishing" for silver salmon. We are also the only lodge in the world to catch "king salmon on the surface using dry flies." We offer remote and private Alaska fishing in an area with many different rivers, streams, and creeks. We fish smaller rivers and streams, which are usually shallow enough to wade, and have clear water. Unlike other areas of Alaska, we do not fish large rivers using big water fishing techniques such as trolling, backtrolling, or drift fishing. We feel that being confined to a boat for hours backtrolling is not the Alaska experience that our Guests are looking for, so if you would like to fish smaller waters that run clear, where you spend the majority of your time sight fishing, then give us a call.We are a medium sized lodge that, over the course of the summer, average about 10 Guests at a time and this ensures that we are able to provide personal and individual attention to each Guest. We work daily with each of our Guests to determine where and which species they would like to fish for the following day. This personal attention assures the Guest of a customized fishing experience.

Max Schwab Master Guide
City: Talkeetna
Tel: +1 907 733 2681
We're based in Talkeetna, Alaska, which is about 100 miles north of Anchorage and near Denali National Park. It is a village of about 600 people. The region is very beautiful wild and remote, and rich in Alaska history. Denali stands watch not far from our doorstep. The Talkeetna area offers some unique opportunities for wilderness adventures because we are surrounded by mountains: the Alaska Range arcs around us to the west and the Talkeetna Mountains close the circle on the east. Three major rivers converge here and several others feed those.Talkeetna is the starting point for many adventures: mountain climbing, hunting, rafting, fishing, hiking, skiing, camping. The terrain consists of broad river valleys surrounded by mountains with spruce and birch forests interspersed with muskegs in the lower elevations and open tundra higher up. The rivers and lakes and the glaciers and mountain valleys that feed them are beautiful and unspoiled. You will be sharing your surroundings with a variety of wildlife: moose, grizzly and brown bears, sheep, caribou, eagles, otters, waterfowl and many other creatures. Salmon spawn in the rivers and the trout grayling and char are there as well. Summer weather varies from warm sunny days to wind and rain, with temperatures between 25 and 75 degrees. Fall and spring temperatures vary from 10 to 50 degrees.

Having flown the area for over 25 years in every season means that Gary knows the country well and has more than the knowledge and capabilities to not only get you to your destination, but also answer any questions you may have regarding the area or the history of the area.

Mile Zero Bed & Breakfast
City: Skagway
Tel: +1 907 983 3045
Deishu, Tlingit indian word, meaning beginning or end of the trail. Skagway has always been the end of one journey and the beginning of another. From its earliest days, the steam ships brought the stampeders and their supplies from Seattle to the end of the inside passage. A journey in itself but only the beginning of the trail over the White Pass or the Chilkoot to the gold fields. The Whitepass railroad, and the Klondike highway's mile zero are both in Skagway. It is the end of the marine highway system up the inside passage. The barge lines carrying supplies to Skagway and the interior of Canada terminate in Skagway. There is lead and zinc ore hauled by road from the interior of Canada to a terminal in Skagway where it goes by ship to ports all over the world. The beginning or end, mile zero either way. For you Mile Zero can be a new beginning or end of your own adventure.

Mr Funwyzer Charters
City: Kenai
Tel: +1 907 283 6741
We live to fish! For some fishing is a business, for us it is a passion. Some days you just wake up in the morning, tapping your fingers on the counter and muttering to yourself, " I'm hungry for the flavor of the morning ocean." and something inside you comes alive as you anticipate the first "Fish - On" of the day.The best way to introduce us is to introduce my husband, Pal Al. Captain Pal Al is very conscientious to see that the boat is clean, in top running condition and on time for fishing adventures. Then his focus turns to creating an awesome, fun, fish-filled outing for his companions. He makes every effort to see that each fisher is comfortable and confident with his gear (supplied). Pal Al is fun and attentive and real serious about getting his folks the fish that they came for. I've often said that he could spot a moose in the shadow of a bush at night at a hundred yards and he is wonderful at spotting whales, porpoise, otters and puffins. Eagles galore and a myriad of sea-birds against a backdrop of rugged, majestic, snow-capped peaks jutting 10,000 feet right out of the ocean (and their occasional wisp of volcanic life). You just never know what might fly, float or swim by or come up on your hook!

Nome is a little know treasure for birders. The city of Nome is bounded by tundra on three sides and the Bering Sea coast on the other. Once the ice begins to break up, migration begins. Virtually the entire area of the Seward Peninsula that is accessible by road from Nome is comprised of extremely valuable nesting areas for many bird species including most North American waterfowl.Safety Sound, less than twenty miles from Nome on the Nome Council road, is a migrant trap before breakup. Observers have noted Emperor Geese, and Stellar's Eiders in this area. A Whooper Swan was sighted there for three weeks in the spring of 1991. Off-shore in open patches of water, called leads, ringed seal often bask on ice ledges. These leads also concentrate migrating waterfowl: Scoters, Eiders, Harlequin Ducks, Old Squaws, Arctic and Pacific Loons and, occasionally, Yellow-Billed Loons. Tufted and Horned Puffins, Common Murres, and Pelagic Cormorantare all possibilities in this bird rich area. The terminus of this road is Council, and is the only place accessible from Nome where boreal species may be found.
