Thomasville is known for the many plantations in the area where people the world over come to hunt deer and birds. The area is flat to rolling with an abundance of lakes and ponds. Thomasville is called the "City of Roses" because of the many rose gardens throughout the city. It could also be called the "Azalea City, Day Lily City, Crepe Myrtle City, or Pine Tree City. Better yet, it could be called the "Garden City" because of the many varieties of flowers that are seen all over the city and countryside.
