The Vagabond Lodge was built by the Cranmer family on the outskirts of Hood River, Oregon. The Cranmers still own and operate the Lodge, which now consists of five buildings, nestled on five acres of quiet, wooded grounds at the edge of the Columbia River Gorge cliffs. Most rooms have stunning views of the Columbia River on one side, and a mossy courtyard, filled with native trees and wildflowers, picnic areas, and a playground on the other. Ponderosa pines tower 110 feet over the courtyard, while Bald Eagles float by on the Gorge winds that make Hood River an internationally-known windsurfing destination.
